"I couldn't ask for more"

Talk n Text Phone Pals lost last night's game. As Mico Halili had been saying over and over last night, everyone had expected the Phone Pals to go all the way. Sigh...

Although solemn, Coach Banal can't hide the fact that he was sad of the outcome. Still, he knew how to accept defeat. Asked about his sentiment regarding their loss, he said, "I couldn't ask for more from my players". He acknowledged the effort displayed by his players who was able to cut the lead by 5 at some point in the fourth quarter.

Sigh. Then again, there's always the next conference.

Side note: sana mag help out c Coach Banal sa Blue Eagles, esp. now that the Phone Pals are already on vacation. ;-)

You are naturally born with a gift, whether it be
poetry, writing or song. You love beauty and
creativity, and usually are highly intelligent.
Others view you as mysterious and dreamy, yet
also bold since you hold firm in your beliefs.

Veronica Rewind

"Stop thinking all the time that you're in the way, that you're bothering the person next to you. If people don't like it, they can complain. And if they don't have the courage to complain, that's their problem."

Perhaps every one else there knew, but what did it matter; she must learn to care less about annoying others.

1 Thing I Miss

Was walking along Araneta Center on my way back to Katipunan from Boni, when I realized something, something I really miss - hugging my mommy and daddy real tight.  Yung tipong pag bata ka you'll hug as in with a squeeze.  I don't know why or how that thought came to mind but definitely I miss doing that.  Of course, when you're an adult you'd be shy to do so --hug your parents, even a gentle hug (without a squeeze Ü), hanggang kiss na lang.  I think a hug convinces more (that you love someone) than a kiss.

Sigh, I guess I just miss my mom and dad.

To My Daddy

That smile says it all ---

No security in the world is at par with the one given by your mere presence.

Malakas ang loob ko to say to the world,"Ano laban kayo?!"
because you and mom give me the courage and the reason to fight.

Thank you.
HAPPY FATHER'S DAY! c",)

A Prayer

Slap me in the face,
Shove me,
Shake me,
Give a blow Lord,
I stand firm.
I won't give up nor give in
I'll struggle and fight
'Coz I know Lord
That even if I may be deserted by them
You will never leave my side
You will always be there
Amen.

Difficult Question

I had my 7:30 class today, ITM110. The teacher gave out student info sheet. Of course, I was breezing through it, easily answering each-- Personal details, hobbies, fave subject,,, and then the most difficult question of all time (especially if already past childhood stage): dream/target first job.

Ang hirap.:( I just resorted to putting "corporate job -I'm willing to start at whatever position". That is true, in my mind really, I must work right after college, find a high-paying job to earn a living for my family. Yun muna. After that, then I'll decide whether to put up a business or pursue Architecture.

Then our teacher started briefing us about I.T. Minor. I must say he is good at convincing people. But no flowery words ha, just facts (or at least that's what I choose to believe Ü).

So now I have an answer to that difficult question,,, which I decided I won't disclose, hehe, sorry. Ü Basta, I'm just happy that at least I have a sense of direction of my career. c",) It is quite a high ambition though, for me...pero sabi ko nga sa yearbook ko sa HS, "shoot for the moon because even if you fail, at least you'll land among the stars ;).

New (school)Year Resolutions

1. Focus (on the goal).
2. Shift+Delete past crush/es. :p
3. Practice habit V.*
4. Try my very best to enjoy Philo.
5. Don't cram papers.

*Habit V of 7 Habits of Highly Effective People: Seek to Understand then to be Understood. Mom asked me to read an article on this, the day I was about to leave for Manila. That particular day also, I got a little bit mad at my youngest sister for being.. "childish". After a while, my other sister got a little bit pissed by a comment I made. I made a mental note not to kiss them goodbye later that night. Hours passed, they were talking to me again. It was me who was holding back. I realized if only I'd try, I might understand why they can't seem to understand me,,,just yet.

I kissed them goodbye. And Wat even accompanied me with dad to the terminal. c",)

Tong-its & Life :p

This is our (my sisters & I) favorite "sports"Ü. Somehow, tong-its would no longer be as exciting without the "taya" or money down. 50 cents taya and 1 peso if it's "tong-its". I arrived in Naga early Sat. morning. If I remember right, Saturday afternoon, my younger sisters (2) wouldn't stop until I give in - tong-its daw kami. Haha, we went on for hours. I lost P20 more or less. The second and third game we had, I won P20 each, hehe.

Playing with money at stake shouldn't really be encouraged, I know.  I just can't help but see the similarity between tong-its & life. c",)

1.  Whether you like it or not, you gotta play sooner or later. (especially if you have MY sistas ;p) Life is meant to be lived.

2.  Whether I win or lose, playing tong-its is fun.  For me, it's a special time together with my sisters. Life is wonderful, you just have to look around and experience it to find joy in it.

3.  You gotta have something to play tong-its.  Utang won't carry you for long.  Survivors in life have an edge over others - that's why they survive; it can be their strength, determination, a particular skill...  You won't survive for long if you'll be forever depending on connections or just mere charity of others.

4.  When you lose, there are two tendencies - one, you give up early coz you might be losing more money later on; two, you try and try, wishing the game would go on until you win something.  "In trying times, don't quit trying."  But I believe it is in life (than tong-its) that you should always prefer the second tendency...

5.  When you win, you wish it would stay that way- that you're winning streak won't end.  When you're on top, though you know life is a wheel, it can't be taken against you to wish and hope that you'll stay on top.  Important: keep your feet on the ground to be always prepared.

6.  There are a lot of risks involve from choosing to wait for a straight or a quadro to calling for a "draw" and/or accepting or rejecting a draw.  Life IS full of risks.

7.  Tong-its is just a game.  I think life is a game too, but not just JUST.  ;)
